The Idea

Following from 'CF', 'PS' (Passive Shooter) carried the visual style ideas across, and attempted to blend wave-based gameplay with arcade "shooter" elements to create something different.

I really wanted to emphasise visual feedback and "juiciness" as well, and not just do "the bare minimum", but really put effort into the feedback so that it feels engaging and rewarding throughout.

How to Play

This prototype involves collecting / bumping into things of the same colour, and avoiding the opposite colour. Fill the gauge and you enter 'attack' mode where enemies fire bullets which when collected, cause you to shoot back.

There is a miniboss / challenge system, as well as run upgrades and bosses with more traditional bullet-hell type patterns.

Click / tap and drag to move, right click or 'Z' key to switch colour.

Development Status

This prototype has no real intro or menu system, just very basic instructions and 2 levels of gameplay.

I like the feel of this prototype quite a lot, though the waves and elements of the core loop still need work and more variation to really shine I think.

While I haven't worked on this for a while, I like what's there and can see improvements, so I might pull it off the shelf at some point.
